        What It Means...

Two lives. One choice. Infinite consequences. What it means to be human.

An intimate social impact documentary told through poetic spoken word, following two women from opposite backgrounds as they confront identity, autonomy, and a woman’s right to choose.

What It Means… is an award-winning social impact short documentary that blends poetic spoken word with intimate vérité storytelling to explore identity, autonomy, and the deeply personal realities surrounding a woman’s right to choose. Told through the true-life experiences of two women from vastly different backgrounds, the film creates a human-centered reflection on choice, circumstance, and the emotional and societal forces that shape life-altering decisions.

Focused on empathy and lived experience rather than political rhetoric, What It Means… invites audiences to listen, reflect, and engage in meaningful dialogue around complex and often polarizing issues. The film is designed as both an artistic expression and a community engagement tool, frequently accompanied by moderated discussions and educational screenings.

The documentary is currently screening in festivals and select theatrical community events across the United States. It has received multiple honors, including: Best Shorts Corner Winner Showcase at Cannes Docs (Marché du Film, 2025)

Best Short Documentary at the 8th Hollywood Discovery Awards (2025)

Best Documentary Film at the 2024 BSSAV Film Festival Los Angeles
